A resounding cheer could be heard from investment home owners across the Western Cape in South Africa when FIFA made the decision to contract vacation rental homes, guest houses and Bed & Breakfasts for the 2010 World Cup. Commendably, FIFA recognizes the value and convenience found in renting a vacation home. With vacation rental fraud and scams on the rise, rental investors everywhere can take advantage of the positive PR and help to improve the image of the fastest growing accommodation trend in the travel industry.
Homeowners in 2010 World Cup venues
A property need not be contracted by FIFA to score at the 2010 World Cup. Hundreds of thousands of spectators flock to the month long World Cup of football every year creating the need for every type of accommodation choice (hence FIFA’s decision to expand their accommodation options). Even rental homes not in a stadium’s immediate area will still be considered a viable option for travelers. Listings using the keywords 2010 FIFA World Cup in the headline (owners, also use the keywords in the listing’s body and perhaps a photo caption) will appear at the top of a traveler’s search results.
Spectators traveling to the 2010 World Cup
Matches will take place in 10 stadiums across the Western Cape. Doting fans will find a number of rental options in these cities ranging from one room condos to luxury beachfront villas, many offering a glimpse into Africa’s wildest experiences above and beyond the roar of the stadium crowd. ArrangeYourVacation.com features one such property. Cambalala Guest House (listing #4075) offers spectacular views of Kruger National Park, South Africa’s world-famous wild animal sanctuary.
The vacation rental industry as a whole
When vacation rental owners throughout the world commit to conducting business professionally and with integrity, everyone wins. Offering rental protection or verification, maintaining meticulous records and communications plus always highlighting the most lofty reviews and testimonials of a property ensures all rental customers – and owners, too – of a trustworthy business relationship with valuable long-term potential.

Fractional Ownership will be a great idea during the world cup. It will help people feel like home when being there for the world cup matches.
Hi Jeff. Thank you for your comment. I look forward to learning more about Fractional Ownership.

What an interesting post! Here are 4 suggestions I’d make when booking a vacation rental:
1. Location: It is important to understand where you are staying. Pull up Google Earth to get a good visual of where you’re staying relative to the places you want to go during your stay.
2. Sleeping Arrangement/Bedding Make-up: Get a good idea of the bedding layout before you book! If you’ve got a group full of adults, chances are good you don’t want to be stuck in a room with two bunk beds for you and your cohorts. Knowing the bedding in each room will help you narrow down the properties that best fit your party’s needs.
3. Quality Rating: Ask for the quality rating score of the property you are considering to book. Go one step further and ask how the rating scale is compiled. A “bronze” to me and a “bronze” to you can be a very different expectation.
4. Travel Insurance: I cannot stress how important Travel Insurance is when booking your vacation! If anything, travel insurance offers peace of mind for those unforeseen events in life. Wouldn’t you rather have the peace of mind?
