This is so true for South Lake Tahoe . The one time I thought I could wait till a week until I arrived I ended up with a poor rental and felt pretty dumb about waiting so long. I even paid more than I should have. But live and learn right! This was in 2007 so, as Tahoe becomes more popular due to folks crunching their budgets for Winter getaways, and staying closer to home, Tahoe will be a popular spot this year!
