Whatever be the reason, I surely did wish to meet the owner of 10k Vacation Rentals, Inc and ask him what prompted him to name his site thus! I needn’t go around looking for excuses to do so, as 10k Vacation Rentals have been delivering top class information to visitors since 1996. Market leaders in the true sense indeed!
Do not go berserk on seeing the home page. Remember, this is one of the oldies in the domain of Vacation rentals, and thus you may not find the pages and the content, all that user-friendly. What is important to note though – The information provided for each vacation destination is up to date and dare I say, top-drawer stuff!
Within seeing the first two links, I knew this was the place I should have been much earlier to book my vacation rentals. Here are some reasons on why I think so.

Just the fact that they have been providing vacation rentals in different cities of the globe since 1996, gets me to sit up and take notice. I am being told that they started off with vacation rentals in the United States of America, and look at where they are today!
They have expanded to show vacation listings in the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Central America, South America and many more geographies! It truly can’t get any better than this.
No jazz, pure information – that’s what you get from 10k Vacation Rentals, Inc.
As a traveler, all I want from a vacation rentals site is information on the place I propose to visit. I surely would need all the information regarding the kind of rooms I am being offered, the size of rooms and other details. Trust I got all of these with www.10kvacationrentals.com, and impressively, I was given this information in a very simplistic manner!
10,000 rentals – Is it true?
Honestly, I just did not have the patience to check if this site offered 10k rentals. I just did a quick dipstick check on one of their links. Off I went trying to see the rentals in Lake Tahoe, and I found 40 vacation rentals. I am sure this site has about 250 locations, maybe more. At the same average, we are looking at 10k rentals. Mystery behind the name of the site unraveled?
Quality of information – Key to the success of 10k Vacation Rentals, Inc!
Spend some time in this site, if you are really looking for quality information. Taking the example of Lake Tahoe, I could note that each rental was supplemented with enough information on the type of property, reasons why you would enjoy staying in the rental, how you could enjoy the scenic beauty of the place and a quick snapshot of the amenities in the rental.
All the rentals had their contact information specified, just in case you wish to book without any delay. I did so, and called a number given besides a rental that I was impressed with and got my booking done in almost an hour’s time.
Villas, Chalets, Apartments – You get them all here!
If you thought that www.10kvacationrentals.com did not offer variety, you are mistaken. Browse through the rentals and you would understand they offer variety like no one else does. One of the hits of this site is the customized ski package it offers to its visitors. Trust this to be the only featured package offered by this site though!
To see the kind of variety in rentals they offer, simply click on the destination you wish to be in and right in front of your eyes, you would see a whole list of rentals. Clearly in their descriptions, it would be mentioned if they were a villa or a chalet or something else.
Areas of Improvement
Though, I was able to book my vacation at Lake Tahoe rather easily, there were some of things I observed that could be worked upon by the Webmaster.
- No Far-East locations – I was indeed surprised that no far-east rentals found a way to this site. The tourist influx to these places is quite high that gets me all the more curios as to why this site did not have those locations!
- No Asian Locations – Ask anyone how they could spend an inexpensive vacation, and they would say, “Go to Asia”. To be fair, Asian locations offer some of the best and holistic experience at a cheaper rate for sure.
- Not many featured packages – Ski packages are the only featured ones available in this site. This could still have been fine before the Millennium, but now people want to have a lot of options before they make a choice.
My Rating
On Credibility of information provided to visitors, I would rate www.10kvacationrentals.com 5 on 5. They get 5 from me as well on the quality of information and its simplicity. For Web Styling, I would be a touch critical and give them 3. Ignore this on your choice, as this has been a really old service and has been serving its visitors admirably well, since 1996.
For diversity in locations, I would give them 3 primarily because I could not find any locations in the Far East and Asian Subcontinent. I visited Lake Tahoe rentals by chance, got impressed and booked my vacation in one of the rental. But what if I wished to visit Thailand (Phuket, Pattaya and other places)? I would surely have gone back disappointed.
Overall Rating – 4 on 5!
Conclusion
In terms of credibility of the information and quality of the information, www.10kvacationrentals.com ranks right at the top. As a traveler, these two bits are most critical for you. In that sense, this site gives you tremendous value for your time. Anyways, this site has been in this business for the last 13 years. No ways it could have survived without satisfying its customers. At least today, it found one more in me.
