Aside from being on the first page of search engine results, the quality and content of your website is very important in order to increase bookings, occupancy, and revenue. Will your prospect customers like what they see when they get to your website? Do you have property pictures and unit descriptions that will catch their eyes? Will they find it easy to navigate? Always remember that the best listings will always get the most bookings.
Quality Pictures
Do you remember the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words”? For me, a picture is really worth much more than a thousand words. If you have quality pictures on your website, this will not only increase your look but it will also increase bookings. How to get great pictures of your units without having to pay professional photographer or buy expensive equipment?
First, you must have a digital camera that has at least 3-megapixel images in order to get great shots of your unit. Well you do not need a purchase a high end SLR digital camera. You better purchase one if you do not currently own a digital camera. Check about the camera features and invest in a camera that will take quality pictures. The real key to great pictures is what your camera features.
Second consideration is how you will showcase your house, internally and externally. Your exterior pictures should focus not only the house, but the surrounding area as well. Your exterior pictures must be clear and should highlight the color as well as the uniqueness of the unit. Showcase any unique and enticing features of the surrounding area also. Make sure your customers will see any of the exterior details of your house or property. Does your property have a hammock, swing, outdoor pool or hot tub? Then you must include one photo highlighting these unique aspects. Furthermore, you must include a nice and clear shot of your unit if it is near the beach, a hiking trail, boardwalk, or other attractions.
Include at least 3-4 images of the interior of the unit. Showcase the rooms where your guests will be spending the majority of their time. Include all unique features of your unit like Jacuzzi or a game room. Guests also wanted to see the layout of the kitchen and the living room. You must not overlook these rooms as they cannot walk through the unit before renting it. Showcase your interior and ensure them to see what they need. Before you take photo of the unit’s interior, make sure to that the rooms are well lit. Moreover, help your guests visualize themselves staying in the unit.
Do not forget to include the floor plans! Floor plans are a great way to give your customers an accurate description of a unit’s layout. Why do you need to show? These are especially helpful for families or groups that are staying in a unit and may have questions or concerns about space for children, proximity of living space, and others. Aside from that, you can also include map of the area to show if your unit is nearby lakes, trails, or shopping areas.
Finally, include photo labels but make sure that the labels are descriptive. For example, you can label the photo of the kitchen with “Fully furnished kitchen with beach view”, instead of simply putting “kitchen” only.
