Bulgaria – A Vacation Rich In Culture
Bulgaria is one of the oldest countries in Europe. Located in Southeastern Europe, it shares it’s borders with five other countries: Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, and Turkey. The country itself holds some of the
classical regions of legend, such as Thrace, Macedonia, and Moesia, and the local cultures began producing some of the most beautiful golden artifacts as early as the 5th millennium BC. Bulgaria itself still preserves the traditions of the First Bulgarian Empire, which was from about 632-1018. With it’s breathtaking architecture, the whole monastery is one great photo op for those who love sight seeing. Then there is the Roman Theater in Plovdiv that still stands as it did thousands of years ago. The theater is a great place to see a wonderful mix of both Roman and Bulgarian styles. There are also the ancient ruins of Odessus that hold the very places where the story of his life were written about. Since Bulgaria is often described as lying at the crossroads between the East and the West, it is easy to find magnificent architecture everywhere you go.
