Cancun Vacation Rentals, B&B and Hotels
Vacationing in Cancun
Since Cancun has warm, tropical weather year round, it is a great place to vacation at any time of the
year. In the summertime it does get very hot by some standards, but mostly the temperatures range from 80-90 degrees for a high, and 68-80 for a low. In June it becomes the rainy season, where it rains heavily in the afternoon for a few hours at a time. Rain is actually needed to release some of the humidity from the air, so people enjoy it when it comes.
With over 80 flights daily, Cancun is very easy to get to. Almost all major airlines fly into the Cancun airport. There are three ways to get around Cancun once you are there. The most convenient are rental cars, just be careful to use the reputable car companies. Taking a bus is just as easy. For 6.5 pesos you can travel all over Cancun. Just remember to hold on tight, as Cancun buses are notorious for speeding and trying to scare you just for fun. They run 24 hours a day, and are easy to spot. You could also take a taxi but make sure to negotiate a price before you get in, because if you aren’t careful they will just name any price once they are at your destination. Pesos are the currency in Cancun, although they are used to seeing US dollars. They might not have change readily available in USD so exchanging your money is the best way to go.
All major hotels and resorts are equipped with the Internet and phone. The Internet can be accessed through dozens of Internet café’s around the city if not from your hotel. Your cellular phone will work here but you have to be equipped with roaming from Mexico, which you would need to talk to your cellular provider about before you leave for your trip. You would be better off using the hotel phone or buying a prepaid calling card before you leave.
Hotels and resorts are plentiful in Cancun. They are mostly situated on the beach, the lagoon, or in the downtown area. But one of the best ways to enjoy your vacation is to find a private vacation rental in Cancun . You can easily find one right on the beach if you take the time to look. Be sure that you book your rental early though, as this is a very popular spot for tourists throughout the year.
Make sure to bring a very comfortable pair of shoes for walking if you don’t plan on taking buses. The city is large and there is a lot to see. A trip to Cancun would be ruined if you didn’t remember your sunscreen, because the sun is hot, and you are in it all day long. You may want to bring something to relieve stomach problems, because many have been known to get sick on a trip over there due to the lack of a good purification system.
Nightlife can be crazy out there. There are so many bars and clubs that you definitely have your choice of where to go. This is when Cancun really comes to life so bring your dancing shoes. There is incredible shopping during the day but you need to know when you can negotiate and when you can’t. You’ll figure this out quickly, but you do want to give it a try if it is something you really want but it is out of your budget.
If you wish to make a trip to other cities in Mexico, you can find afordable Mexico vacation rentals almost everywhere. Enjoy your trip!
