The "Rose of Sharon" offers comfortable, affordable accomodation for the vacationing family.

Set on a quiet tree-lined street you can enjoy the peace of the garden and enjoy breakfast on the patio or in our dining room. The "Rose of Sharon" Guesthouse is located in the quiet town of Aylmer, Ontario, just minutes by car from the beaches at Port Bruce and Port Burwell on Lake Erie's north shore.

Aylmer is 2 hours by car from Niagara Falls and just 25 minutes from London, Ontario, where visitors can enjoy great shopping, Museums and Art Galleries and also the annual Hot Air Balloon Fest held in the summer.

If quieter persuits are what you are seeking, then nearby Springwater Conservation Area might interest you. There you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of some of the last remaining Carolinian Forest in Southwestern Ontario and you may catch a glimpse of several of our rare native birds.

During the month of March the Aylmer area is visited by tens of thousands of Tundra swans, as they migrate from their winter feeding grounds on Chesapeake Bay and fly north to the Arctic to breed. On their journey they stop at the Wildlife Management Area in Aylmer to rest and feed before continuing their annual migration.

In late summer the north shore of Lake Erie sees a unique migration of Monarch Butterflies, who spend the winter in Central America and gather in this area in the Fall, as they prepare for their epic journey south to winter in Mexico.

Thousands of Raptors, who also fly south for the winter, pass through this area on their winter migration. Visit nearby Hawk's Cliff and watch for our native Birds of Prey. Some birds such as the Turkey Vulture, Red Tailed Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, Golden Eagle are summer residents in this area.

Aylmer is 2 hours drive from world-famous Niagara Falls - this is a must-see destination if you are visiting Canada from over-seas.
