Zlatograd is situated in the eastern Rhodopes, in the southern part of Bulgaria, close to its border with Greece. You can find many architectural and cultural monuments dated from XVIII - XIX c. in the town. The oldest church in the Rhodopes here is preserved - "Uspenie Bogorodichno" - it was built in 1834. Nowadays Zlatograd is a modern town, which has preserved the enchantment and the traditions of the Bulgarian Renaissance. There are numerous restraunts, taverns, private hotels and boarding h ouses in the town.
