This traditional Auvergnian house is on three floors and has just been refurbished thoughout with solid oak floors, oak staircase and doors. The ground floor has a large kitchen/dining room with a wood burning stove and a large dining table that comfortably seats up to 14 people. (there are beds for 12 people but two camp beds allow up to two extra children).

Our house is in the Bourg, the historic centre of the village of Murat Le Quaire (1000m) just over 10 minutes drive (and it`s a very pleasant drive) from the ski resort of Le Mont Dore. La Bourboule, a winter & summer resort town with lots of restaurants, a large park, shops, 2 supermarkets etc is just 2km away.

Murat Le Quaire is just 10 minutes drive from the recently completed N89 autoroute.



This makes the house an easy drive from Calais (around 7 1/2 hours) or Le Havre (under 6 hours). Alternatively fly Ryanair to Limoges and hire a car (2 hours drive) or get the train from London to Clermont Ferrand (via Paris) and hire a car in Clermont (less than one hour drive from the house).
