Miramar is a elegant beach front district between Porto 10km and Espinho the casino and surfer’s city just 5km away. It belongs to the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia where the famous Port Wine cellars are located. Today it is a district of grand Porto.

In the past rich wine merchants from the Douro Valley built their opulent beach residences in Miramar. Today, Miramar is very well maintained and low built, upscale suburb with nice attractions. Peaceful during the week, the Miramar promenade can be crowded with the locals on weekends.

The top attraction is the most photogenic chapel on the rocks “senhor da pedra”.

The actual mayor improved the area, with modern gardens holding high tech fountains, restaurants, cafes, esplanades, beach promenade, 15 km of jogging tracks along the gold sandy beach and the golf course.
