This cottage has lots of original features like an arched granite doorway and huge exposed oak beams.

The open plan lounge/ kitchen /dining area is ideal for family entertainment.

The comfortable lounge area has a log burner and some granite walls.

The well equipped kitchen area has double doors that open onto a covered veranda, this leads to the shared garden & pool area.

The 1st floor has a shower room and 4 bedrooms, 2 double rooms 1 with an en-suite, a twin - bedded room and 1 room with bunk beds.

There is a separate patio area with garden furniture, sun canopy and a BBQ.



The gardens:



There are two and a half acres of gardens with open views over undulating farmland.

The communal patio area has a brick BBQ, the ideal place for parents to get to know one another, while the kids play. We have had many an enjoyable evening with a BBQ and a few drinks.

The heated above ground pool is made of teak to fit in with the surroundings in the orchard. The pool is open from May - September.

The gardens are the ideal place to either relax by the pool, have a picnic under a tree, or just sit and read a good book while sipping a glass a wine.

There is a 14ft trampoline with safety nets, badminton, swings, boules pit, swing ball, football net, and basketball in the gardens, along with numerous games. In the covered veranda area there is table tennis, table soccer and a darts board. The gardens are large and safe enough for children to play.

Just down the lane there is an 18 km Patrimoine walk through lovely countryside.





The area:

La Basse Rouerie is located in a small village called Melle, which is situated on the Brittany/ Normandy borders.

Here you can spend days on the magnificent beaches known as the Emerald coast, visit walled towns or just walk through the lovely countryside, something for everyone.



Melle; is about an hours drive from the port of St Malo, this is also an excellent place to visit, with a walled town and miles of sandy beaches. Also within an hours drive you have the large towns of Rennes, Dinan and Domfront all worth a visit.

Half an hour's drive will take you to Mont Saint Michel the 2nd most visited place in France after the Eiffel Tower, the walled town of Fougeres with its chateau, St Hilaire a lively market town and Mortain known for its water falls. We are also only 10 mins away from the American War Cemetery at St. James.

A 2 hour drive will take you to the D-Day beaches and the Bayeaux Tapestry.

Nearby are also water parks, walking and cycle tracks, trout fishing, horse riding and numerous places of interest.
