The ground floor consists of an open plan lounge/kitchen /dining area with a log burner, and exposed oak beams. This is a light and airy room with 3 large windows.

The 1st floor has a shower room and 3 bedrooms, 2 double rooms and a room with bunk beds all have granite walls and exposed oak beams.

There is a separate patio at the side of the cottage, this leads to the shared gardens and pool area.

The cottage is comfortably furnished and includes a microwave, fridge, washing machine, CTV, DVD player and hi fi.

All the bedrooms and shower room have heating for the cooler months.

Brittany Farmhouse is a traditional Breton farmhouse and Longere that dates back 600 years in parts. It has two and a half acres of gardens with open views over undulating farmland.

It is situated on the Brittany, Normandy border in France so you can explore both areas.



A perfect place for all the family to unwind, either by the pool or under a tree with a good book and a glass of wine.



The English owners Sandy & Barrie have converted the Longere into 4 cottages leaving in lots of the original features, like granite walls and exposed oak beams.

The cottages have been restored to provide modern conveniences whilst retaining all the charm of a typical French farmhouse.



Although in a quiet location we are only a few minutes from Melle which has a bar-tabac-restaurant-store and 5 mins to Louvigne du Desert with its shops and restaurants.



The area:

We are located in a small village called Melle which is situated on the Brittany/ Normandy borders. Here you can spend days on the magnificent beaches known as the Emerald coast, visit walled towns or just walk through the lovely countryside, something for everyone.

Melle is about an hours drive from the port of St Malo, this is also an excellent place to visit, with a walled town and miles of sandy beaches. Also within an hours drive you have the large towns of Rennes, Dinan and Domfront all worth a visit.

Half an hour’s drive will take you to Mont Saint Michel the 2nd most visited place in France after the Eiffel Tower, the walled town of Fougeres with its chateau, St Hilaire a lively market town and Mortain known for its water falls. We are also only 10 mins away from the American War Cemetery at St. James.

Nearby are also water parks, walking and cycle tracks, trout fishing & horse riding, plus numerous other places of interest.

Just under 2 hours will take you to the D-Day beaches and the Bayeaux Tapestry.
