Westgate Resort and Spa, Park City, President's Week
Take Your Family on My Vacation!
My work schedule = you win! I can't get away to use this vacation... you go instead, ok?
See Auction Here: http://bit.ly/ParkCityCondoRental
I've got a week (fully transferable) booked in a one bedroom, one bath unit at The Westgate Park City Resort and Spa at The Canyons for PRESIDENT'S WEEK. Other than Weeks 51 and 52, Week 7 is the most desirable, most expensive and hardest to book time of the year at this resort.
Your check-in date would be Sat, Feb 13 and check-out is the following Sat, Feb 20. We had this booked for my family of 4 (2 adults and two kids). We've stayed here several times before and this size condo is perfect for us. (Not good for 2 adult couples as one couple would be on a sleeper sofa in the family room).
If you haven't been here before, below is some information that you won't find in the "stock description" at the bottom of this listing.
I've been skiing all over the country for 25 years and this place is in my "Top 3" list. My favorite thing about this property is the skier services lounge. When you arrive (if you bring your own skis) the valet will take your skis and boots for you directly to the skier lounge (a co-ed locker room with TV's, glove warmers, lockers, and a fully staffed equipment / valet desk). The next morning (or later that day) when you are ready to ski you just head down to the lounge, tell the valet your name and they will give you your boots and then THEY WILL TRANSPORT YOUR SKIS directly to the bottom of the Flight of the Canyons gondola (the only way to access the mountain.)
When you finish your awesome day of skiing and you make your way back down to the bottom. Look for the valet guys (they'll be right there waiting for you) and give 'em your skis. They'll bring them back to the skier lounge and store them for you for tomorrow. When you make your way back to the lounge (after your apres ski cocktails), give them your boots, toss your stuff in your locker and you're done. They'll store your boots (and dry them) and have them waiting for you in the morning.
As a dad with two girls, the fact that I don't have to carry 3 pair of skis to and from the mountain is a blessing! No wet boots in the room. No carrying skis through the hallways. It's as carefree as you can find.
7 World Class Ski Areas
Feel like venturing out to Park City, Deer Valley or one of the other resorts? (Snowbird, Alta, Brighton and Solitude are just a short drive from the Canyons) No prob! The guys will get your gear out to your car and bring it back in when you come back.
Ok, enough about the skier services... by now you know that they rock. Here's some more stuff you should know:
Location: right in the heart of a nice village of shops and restaurants. Just a 7-10 minute drive to downtown Park City.
In room Amenities: granite counters, leather sofas, a big dining table, full kitchen, steam shower (my wife's favorite), washer and dryer (this is key!)
Property stuff: Fantastic indoor/outdoor pool (my kids love this), hot tubs, ping-pong, game room. Spa on site (she loves this too). Mini mart and a couple restaurants...all good, reasonable and convenient!
The mountain: One of my favorites! The Canyons Resort is HUGE! One of the 5 largest ski areas in North America. You can ski here for days and days and not get bored. Plenty of variety for all levels of skiers.
OK, here comes the catch:
There is no catch! No timeshare tour to take. No obligations at all! Just a credit card upon check-in to cover your incidentals and you are all set. (Hint... if you do feel like taking the tour you can usually get some lift tickets or spa certificates for doing so... but do so only if you want to.)
Rates and Opening Bid Amount
Now, about the auction. You'll see a picture in this listing that shows that you COULD get this room from Westgate directly... for $549 / night PLUS taxes. That would run you around $3500 to $4000. Don't laugh... I start all of my auctions (and I've done a couple hundred of them) at 99 cents. Why do I do this? Because I hate giving ebay more than I have to. If I list it for a higher starting price, I have to pay a higher listing fee. YOU, the bidding public will bid this trip to the proper amount... I'm not worried about that at all. There is NO RESERVE for this auction... the top bidder will get the room. There is also NOT a buy-it-now price. Please don't ask me to end the auction early (unless you are offering me a biggggggg number!)
Let's be fair with each other
As you can see from my 100% perfect feedback, I take ebay seriously (but yes, I do still have a life). Please ask questions BEFORE you bid. If you bid and win... I expect you to complete the transaction by PAYING for the trip within 48 hours. I'll leave positive feedback for you as soon as you have paid. Please do the same for me after your vacation.
Paypal (an ebay owned company) is convenient, but they hit me for 3% on every incoming transaction. You can send your payment with Paypal but I'd prefer a cashiers check. (unless you want to cover the 3% Paypal fee) A personal check is ok, but I need it to clear before I can / will transfer the reservation.
After the auction is over I'll call Westgate, change the reservation name from mine to yours, get the new confirmation number, give it to you and you'll be booked. It's that simple! (Don't worry about me and my family... we're heading out there later in the season... I just can't make it during this particular week in Feb.)
OK... that's about it. I'm here to answer your questions. Google "Westgate Park City reviews" and you'll find tons of others who agree with me about this property. Below is the fluffy, professionally written copy about the property. Feel free to read if you want. Otherwise, grab your mouse, wax your skis and start bidding! Good luck to all. Someone is going to be VERY happy at the end of this auction (and on Feb 13-20).
